Adlib is a daily speaking coach. To score a take it has to hear it. This page says exactly what we collect, why, who touches it, how long we keep it, and how to make it go away.
What we collect
- Beta waitlist. If you sign up for the beta on this site, we collect your name and email address, plus the link or site that sent you to the form. We use them for one thing: sending you a beta invite and the occasional note about the beta. The list is never sold. It is shared only with the service providers listed below, who are bound to protect it, and you can have your entry deleted any time by emailing us. The beta is open to people in the US only for now.
- Site analytics. This site counts visits with Vercel Web Analytics: the page, the referring site, your country, and your device type, browser and operating system. It sets no cookies and does not identify you; visits are grouped by a hash that is discarded after 24 hours.
- Account. If you agree to AI scoring without signing in, the app creates an anonymous account, with no name or email, so your takes can be scored and your history kept. Apple’s App Attest confirms that requests come from a genuine copy of the app. If you sign in with Apple, we receive an Apple-issued account identifier and, only if you choose to share it, your email address; an anonymous account you already have becomes that account. Sign-in is optional.
- Your recordings. When you record a take after agreeing to AI scoring, the audio is uploaded, transcribed and scored, then deleted from our servers immediately after the score is produced. If you choose “Not now”, or your phone can’t be verified, the audio never leaves your phone and the take is scored on the phone as a preview.
- Transcripts and scores. The verbatim transcript, your scores, the coaching note, your streak, the topics you picked, your reminder time, and your subscription status.
- Product analytics. Events such as “session completed” or “paywall shown”, tied to your account so we can understand how the app is used. No advertising identifiers, no cross-app tracking.
- Ad attribution. If you installed Adlib after tapping one of our ads in the App Store, Apple can tell us which of our campaigns, ad groups and keywords it was. The app asks Apple for a one-time attribution token, keeps it on your phone, and sends it only if you agree to AI scoring; an unsent token is discarded within a day. We store those campaign details with your account to measure our own ads. No advertising identifier, no cross-app tracking, nothing about other apps.
- Age. The app checks that you are 18 or older when you set it up, using the age range you share with Apple or, if you prefer, your date of birth. We keep only the yes or no answer, on your phone. Your date of birth and age range are never stored or sent anywhere.
Why
To score your speaking, show your progress over time, keep your streak, remind you at the time you chose, run the subscription, send beta invites, count visits to this site, and see which of our own App Store ads brought people in. That is the whole list. We do not sell data, share it with data brokers, or use it to target ads.
Who processes it
On this site
- Vercel: hosts the site, stores the beta waitlist, screens the signup form for bots, and runs the cookieless site analytics.
- Resend: will send beta emails once we start sending them. Nothing goes to Resend before then.
In the app
- Apple: sign-in, payments, the age check, App Store ad attribution, and App Attest, which confirms a request comes from a genuine copy of the app.
- Supabase: hosting and storage, United States.
- Our speech-to-text provider: turns your audio into a verbatim transcript, filler words included.
Each processor receives only what it needs for its step and is bound by its own privacy terms.
How long we keep it
- Audio: seconds. It is deleted as soon as the score exists.
- Everything else: until you delete your account. Deleting your account, in the app under Settings → Delete account, removes every record about you on the servers Adlib controls.
- Anonymous accounts: deleted with everything in them after 90 days of no use, unless a subscription was ever bought on one. Your history stays on your phone.
- Copies our processors hold: we tell our speech-to-text provider to delete each transcript as soon as we have read it.
- On your phone: your history stays on your device and is deletable any time in Settings → Delete all sessions.
- Beta waitlist details: until the beta ends or you ask us to remove them, whichever comes first. Email us and they are gone.
Your choices
- Export your history as a file from Settings.
- Delete all local sessions, or delete your whole account, from Settings.
- Turn reminders off in iOS Settings at any time.
Minors
Adlib is for adults 18 and older. The app checks age at setup, and someone under 18 can’t record or create an account. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Security
Data moves over encrypted connections and is stored with access limited to what the app needs. No system is perfect; if something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the app will say so before the change takes effect. The date at the top is the version you are reading.
